Who/What is a "docent"?

A person who leads guided tours, especially through a museum or art gallery.
-The Mirriam Webster Online Dictionary

For MECOB members, a docent is much more than the definition above. MECOB docents are priceless because they provide an invaluable service helping us educate, enlighten and entertain our visitors of all ages from the community and beyond.

To provide docent enrichment experiences, MECOB runs a yearly docent workshop in the spring and a docent trip in the fall.

If you would like to become a docent or expand your current docent activities, contact the MECOB member(s) for your field of interest listed in Docent Resources below.

Docent News

Recent Docent Enrichment Trips have visited the Pierce Arrow Museum and the Richardson Complex. For information about past or upcoming Docent events, please contact your location's Docent Coordinator.
